Tsunamir Pare

Though often clubbed together, the terrain of Nicobar and Andaman islands are quite distinctive in nature and very different from one another. During the devastating Tsunami in December 2004, Nicobar group of islands were adversely affected because of their flat terrain. A large number of Nicobarese perished due to this natural disaster. The author had an opportunity to observe and explore these archipelagos, pre and post-Tsunami and has recorded his experience.
